Divergence is bad.

IF there are sectors that are doing very well, and other sectors that are laggards, there is a possibility
that if this divergence gets very high, will lead to the next correction

Proceed with caution !

Life's lessons

Back in India (Pune), as a student, Rajesh Sarma and myself tried to put a technical stock trading platform.
We fed in data pulled in from Disks, and tried doing Candlestick techniques on it. This was back in 1995.

We met with a StockBroker in Pune, (forget his name and details), and he introduced us to technical trading
techniques:
a. Candlesticks
b. RSI (Relative Strength Index)
and importance of them.

In one of our subsequent meetings, he did say a very important thing, and that was my life-lesson.
Don't get greedy with any exchange be it stock or kind or commodity.

"If you made 10 Rs. for that day (met you target), sell out and get out."

Think about it all the time, what a great "life lesson"

Thank you Sir. Where-ever you are, wishing you the very best.

Tech stocks are back on track..

Tech stocks are back
Banks,  airlnes are others are tattered.

Mantra for a good, happy life in upturn or downturn.

Speculation:

a. Cover your lunch
b. Cover your electricity bill
c. Cover your insurance
d. Cover your mortgage

Keep a target say 8%, and follow each a/b/c/d in a disciplined manner

Investment:

Four layer cake:

1. Tbill, Municipal BONDS, CD's, LADDERS (50%)
2. Vanguard, BlackRock, DRIPS (30%)
3. Personal loves -- most likely AAPL, MSFT (20%)
4. Risk takes -- TSLA (10%)

This is the mantra for a good, happy life in upturn or downturn.

The first pick, Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ), is a recession-resistant investment in the global healthcare sector. The other two, Hormel Foods (NYSE:HRL) and Target (NYSE:TGT), are defensive consumer goods companies that can thrive in any economic environment. All three are Dividend Kings worth buying and holding forever.
